27 Jul 2002 – 77 people died at Lviv Intl. Airport while attending an airshow.

Set up to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ukrainian Air Force’s 14th Corps, the air show planned for a Su-27UB demonstration right above the airport. After completing a roll, the aircraft hit a parked Ilyushin Il-76 (registration UR-76717) before crashing in flames into the audience. Among the accidents that took place during an airshow, it was the deadliest in history.

This is one of my fave vids. It's got everything... the slow buildup, the shocking destruction, and just enough panic and gore to cap it off.

For some reason it kind of reminds of the movie IT when the kid is looking through the town's history and he comes across an article about an explosion at an Easter egg hunt and the picture shows a kids head blown clean off stuck in a tree.
