I really appreciate the thoughts. I've cut back quite a bit (at least for me), so no more liquor. And Covid did help in a way since I don't go out to bars anymore. Also am unemployed so I don't really have money to drink, but I can get enough to keep me satiated; I hang out with my parents more, and they are helping me out, and it is really great to reminisce with them. I'm just very lucky that I have a great Mom and Dad. Though I can't hang out with my friends as often, it's okay, keeps me out of trouble ;) Hope you have been doing safe as well. Thanks again.

Oh, edit: Covid hit right when I was starting to go to counseling and attending AA meetings. What great timing, lol!.

However, there is empirical evidence that most races (either via nature/nurture or cultural influences) each have their own predilection for certain types of behavior. Well, everywhere in the U.S. is full of mexicans and south americans, etc now. Texas vs Mexico was settled long ago. Unfortunately many people don't get that and places (like San Antonio where I live) are "sanctuary" cities and seem to defeat the purpose of being part of the U.S. Local police have no power to notify ICE of illegals, and catholic charities love to house these people to support their own cause. YES. I've pulled over before several times on long roadtrips, one instance I was about 14 hours in and started seeing things at night. Slapping my face didn't help, time to safely catch a nap. Police may stop to check to see if you're alright, but as soon as they can tell that you aren't drunk or on drugs, they will fully support you.

Also, I am also a firm supporter of seatbelts, I won't pull out of a parking space with my friends if they are not buckled in. And my big ol' dog: I keep him hitched in the back. Nothing drives me as mad as seeing women with their annoying ass dogs climbing all over them while driving.

I was in a bad place for awhile, and the primary way I wanted to go was via a firearm. Even though I could go out in the woods, it would still make a mess, so I then decided that hanging myself on a tree limb would be the cleanest way to go (pills aren't a surefire way) and wouldn't force my parents the responsibility of cleaning my brain matter or anything from my house. Luckily I'm doing better so don't have to make the choice and that's not in my mind anymore. My bigger issue is drinking myself to death - not trying to - but a realistic outcome that I've been working on changing.
