If they're professionals, they should know the dangers of fighting outside of the ring. Even simply slipping and hitting your head on hard ground can potentially kill you. Then of course the excessive ground and pound on an already defenseless guy probably finished the deal. People who want to fight but don't want to die should do it in a controlled environment and a proper ring.
