It might be worth having a few 50 kiloton tactical weapons on that side of the Atlantic as a deterrent to Russian aggression.

And, lets face it, if deterrent wasn't the objective, it wouldn't be in the papers.

I mean there's a decent chance that all they did was leak it to the papers, and didn't bother moving the warheads.
