I had experience hanging out with both chinese natives and chinese diaspora (chinese amerif@gs to be exact), and all I have to say that comment rings true way more for chinese amerif@gs.

Chinese natives are capable of being truthful when doing any kind of self-examination. Not saying every person from each subdivision are like that because there are exceptions on either side where one has their share of humble genuine people, while the other has their own irresponsible shallow people. If native chinese culture was so narcissitically shame avoidant, china would have never been a powerhouse it is today and uplifted over 800 million people out of abject poverty and these numbers are still growing. It takes a culture of truthful self-examintion at criticising oneself and fix those issues to become a better person and in this case, a whole nation. This is what native chinese has objectively attained. China's ascension is more complicated than that because they did get assistance from some outsiders, although it's sill impressive what the native chinese has done navigating geopolitics and economic development with their sweat and tears.

Chinese amerif@gs on the hand adopted amerif@g culture where they avoid taking responsibility for the consequences of their actions. Amerif@g culture is the real breeder of narcissists on the world. It mirrors the poopy state of the usa nowadays and why the usa is going down in a hell basket. Lol.

The truly based chinese americans are few and most of them would like to get out of america. Some are thinking about moving to another continent like south america or europe, while some are thinking about returning to their roots in china.
