I think they've captured the segment of the population that are, what's the word for pretentious insufferable busybodies that need to prop themselves up by feeling morally superior to whomever they determine to be the outgroup? Annoying gossip girls?

They'd use to be endemic in churches because that was the social network then and it gave them a moral framework to use to be mean girls. Now it's moved to social media.

There's a fine line between telling someone their lifestyle choices are unhealthy vs actually hating them that a lot of people just really don't get and they tend to go in one way or another. Jesus was going around chilling with prostitutes and other deplorables in his society but was also telling them not to continue in that.

Have gotten similar pushback from homosexuals when I suggest that casual anonymous sex isn't very safe. At least from the crazies. I don't really care if you want to settle with whomever but I do think there's socio-biological reasons for why society evolved to be hostile towards visible homosexuals and that if you remove the conventions of polite society and allow for that process to take place again I don't think it will be pleasant for anyone.
