And that made more sense, to do a brain surgery to fix a brain problem, mental illness. Now they're doing genital surgery to fix a mental illness. Should I get leg surgery to fix a broken arm?

Exulansic calls 'sex reassignment' surgeries sex lobotomies for a reason. I don't doubt these surgeries will widely be viewed in the same light in the future. The question is whether any structural changes will be made to medicine as an institution to prevent history repeating itself.
