Isn't it obvious?

In a nutshell:

Bars got regulary invaded by horde of crossdressing hetero men to hit on cis lesbians, real cis lesbians got disgusted and tired of troons molesting them and stopped going to lesbian bars anymore, crossdresding hetero men got angry and dissapointed at the lack of cis lesbians to sexually harass and stopped going as well, no customers anymore so the bars bankrupted and closed down.

That's basically it.

Pretty sure lesbian bars were dying a death long before the explosion of the trans population. In fact probably a invasion of straight chicks getting pissed they are getting hit on in lesbian bar by lesbians.

Seems a demographically doomed proposition to begin with. Men drink more than women anyway. Might work if you've got loads of Lesbians somewhere but otherwise seems to me the lesbians would just go to the regular gay bar and be happy enough.

Yeah pretty much, separating out purely on a numbers basis seems doomed to failure.

But then again would you really want to hang out with a bunch of feminist lesbian separatists if were a gay guy?

The lesbians don't consider me to be one of them on account of the penis. However since I feel entitled to speak on behalf of all lesbians.

I guess the lesbians don't want random guys hitting on them? Or rather they don't want annoying people who won't take a hint hitting on them? Would be my guess. Since the gay guys aren't interested in lesbians they won't hit on them and leave them alone, so I guess they'd be comfortable? Not sure really.

From what I understand gay men being harassed by straight chicks is more of a issue than the other direction.

Been to gay bars with straight chicks before and can confirm they seem to treat them like a petting zoo.

Gays I knew called em "fag hags" which was pretty funny. It's pretty hilarious imho to watch the gay guys with no chill tell off the pretty ones used to getting their way.

bi's an interesting case since in the 70s it seems to have recapitulated a lot of the slap-fights we're subjected to today: "everyone's either bi or in denial" reflects the "everyone's either a FUCKING CISHET MALE or some kind of 'queer' that lets you date someone of the opposite sex but claim oppression"; "I'm trans but don't have dysphoria or change clothes or take hormones" sounds the same as "I'm bi and I don't have to prove it to you"

the difference was that everyone in the 70s debate was an ... adult, even if this sort of San Francisco adult: now it's all 20yo bougie college students

Perhaps, though trannies made the situation much worse and just quicken the death of the bars.
