I used to get told off as a kid for saying it since it was a slur. Though the adults were retarded and wouldn't actually tell me that it was considered a rude name for gay people.

I thought it means strange. Because that's what it fucking means. So I was wondering why the fuck are these adults so upset I saw an unusual vase or something and I'd be like "hey look at that queer vase".

These days people are all like "I'm queer!"

And I'm all like, ok you are strange. I agree.

I do think Marvel missed out on some DEI points for not taking advantage of the opportunity to have a Dr. Queer movie.

It's a word I never liked, not just because it's an insult, but also because the people who use it are always the attention seeking type, who want to stick out and wave their labels in the face of every person they meet. And if you're a bit creative, alternative or have non-typical interests, it gets pushed on you or you're otherwise assumed to be part of the "queer community". I'm not that much older than the kids who obsess over this crap, but I'm sure I first heard it used for shock value in punk-rock songs my dad liked, so it was up there with other slurs for me.

Also I play a lot of Final Fantasy 14, which uses a lot of archaic language to add to the medieval feel of the game, and it always feels oddly satisfying to see the word queer used in its original meaning.

A good way to say it is "different". Because they aren't like us the heteronormative people.

But queer isn't a sexuality. It's not something that should be part of Pride.

There are two questions to be asked. 1: What's your sex? 2: What sex are you attracted to? If 1 and 2 are opposite, you're straight, no matter how "against the heteronormativity" you are.

T isn't a sexuality as well and it's part of pride. Funny how that works

Exactly my point. T also shouldn't be part of Pride.
