There is some suggestion that the current generation of kids is more conservative than the previous one. Not only is it natural for kids to rebel against what they are taught. But I've heard anecdotes from mothers of young teenagers who are sick of the cry bullies in their classes transing and expecting special treatment. I have a preteen and he is angry with non-binaries for trying to cancel Mr Beast over some boys v girls challenge he did. So kids are getting quietly sick of what's going on.

It's good, but it seems like if the pendulum is shifting, that shift's going to be way too hard.

This is doubled since when the generations shift what they believe in, it can boil down to "getting back at Mommy and Daddy by having some belief that they hate"- and we look close to realizing what happens when parents say "I'll love you no matter what you are...unless you become a Nazi."
