I read the article and still I doubt. Being a gay dude I just don't see it. What I see around me is people putting on affectations in an attempt to both find an identity as well as putting up a defence mechanism. Dudes are dudes and I really don't think there's a great difference between straight and gay in any meaningful way beyond their tastes in partners. Brain diff might be due to many factors, if true at all. But good question anyway.
And really, I think it's the other way around; trans people are more often gays in denial. Or, you know, spectrum types.
