Interesting that they don’t explain what makes a child “high risk” of being infected with a virus that is overwhelmingly affecting gay and bisexual men and is increasingly being seen as sexually transmitted. Seems like a detail that a journalist should ask about.

It's not transmitted only by sexual activity though, as contact with the respiratory secretions of an infected person is also a risk factor, as is prolonged exposure to the skin or objects of said person.

An infected mother, for instance, can pass the virus to ther children by kissing and hugging them, which by itself should be considered.
