There's a story reason for that. She idolised a specific hero who's a male to the point where she wanted to be treated and referred to as a man. When her father first introduced her as a daughter, she proclaimed that she's not a woman and her father went "yes fine you're the son".

Its 1000 percent a social status thing and nothing about gender ideology
