The trouble is, it seems plenty of people with power think that having just one box left is a good situation.

What amount of power is the right amount for your enemies to have?

Full power over their own lives. Zero power over mine.

That's just not the way it works.

It's certainly not the way things are, but it's something to aim for.

I mean, it sounds like a contradiction, or an impossibility. To have power over their own lives but not yours would require a powerful controlling authority, whereupon they would no longer have full power over their own lives.

I never said it was acheivable! It also depends what is means to have "power over" your own life. If that means the power to live in a world where people you don't like are punished as you see fit, and you can extract arbitrary amounts of resources from them in order to live like a king etc then there will be problems, unless the other people in the world to happen to want to be taxed, murdered etc.

My point remains; wanting your enemies to possess power equal to yours is a self defeating policy.

When a specie wants to get more power from the same amount of energy and divides into sexes, traits necessary for cultivating offspring go to the females, and traits necessary for gathering resources go to the males.

Super straight males who tend to gather a lot of resources should be attracted to females who are equally good at their own arts. Super straights who are less good, should be attracted to equally less good superstraights of the opposite gender.
