Welcome. I’m new, too.

I consider myself liberal, and find it hard to understand how Transgender Ideology is accepted as a liberal idea, similar to accepting gay rights, when it’s so obviously regressive. It entrenches the idea of “natural genders,” instead of promoting the idea that men and women have a range of personalities. It creates a situation where those with privilege can identify into oppressed political classes, and seems to thereby blame the oppressed for not simply identifying out of them. It denies basic biology in favor of individualized, internal, subjective rights of self-identification.

And, of course, there’s all that nonsense about substituting gender-based-attraction for sex- based-attraction.

You've brought up an important point, which I rarely see used by the Oppression Olympians:

If men can identify into women's oppression that means women can identify out. Yet women can't.

In fact, in the UK there was a case of a "transman" who was raped even after she told her attacker she was a male. Her rapist didn't care about her gender identity, just her sex. Go figure.

Yeah, it's impossible for a guy to rape another guy.

I'm not sure what you're getting at because male on male rape exists, while not as common as male on female rape.

The man who raped this "transman" wanted to rape a woman and did; her gender identity meant nothing to him.

What do you base that on?

The account from the trial - it was in the press.

Exactly. A gay male friend of mine is now saying he thinks he's a trans woman. Like, dude, you're already a gay man-- not fitting the stereotypes of masculinity doesn't mean you're not a man. Have the "balls" to be who you really are and don't let toxic masculinity take your identity away!

The problem here isn't "toxic masculinity," it's that masculinity has been labeled as toxic and targeted for destruction. We need more masculinity.

Let him take the 41% challenge.

41% challenge

What's that? I'm a n00b on this site.

[–]Node 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

About 41% of trannies end up going: "I've made a huge mistake", then killing themselves.

So, advocating for someone to become a tranny is like encouraging them to fuck themselves so horribly that they'd choose death over continued life.

I think a general lack of critical thinking skills, and/or a lack of energy and inclination to employ them, is at least partly to blame. Don't know what country you're in (some subsaits like s/LGBdroptheT is largely international, for example), but in the U.S., the two-party political system often causes people to just shrug and go "sure if my party says it then it's right," so you end up with people not questioning a movement labeled "trans rights".

Also, welcome!! 🧡🖤

Hello there! I too am new.

I thought I was flexible on that issue until I raised questions about trans women in sports on r/twoxchromosomes and got an instant ban because of it.

Guess I'm a trump supporting right-wing fundamentalist nazi after all.

It is funny how they keep trying to label Trump as right-wing, or a nazi. The guy is the most jewish-supremacist president America has ever seen.

You joke, but we have nazis here. They kept trying to hijack the front page but since all the Superstraight refugees have been posting they have been totally blocked lol.

Right, yeah, I forgot.

The upside of reddit is that they kicked out the nazis. The downside is that no one else gets to have free speech either.

Trans women competing with biological women is one of my main issues with the trans thing.

I used to be for trans rights but the way silence anyone who questions them or disagrees had soured me to their whole plight. People need to be able to ask questions. People need to be able to say their piece. If their ideology had any merit they would have debates people who disagree instead of trying to label them as bigots or nazis.

Well that's not going to work for them in cases where they are flat-out wrong, so bans work better.

Trans women will never be real women and trans men will never be real men.

[–]zyxzevn 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Even a child knows that

But due to medical mistakes we now also have gays with tits and girls without.

Other options include a traditional Anabaptist church, a mosque, or an orthodox synagogue.

[–]bobbobbybob 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

mosques support trans. Iran has one of the largest surgical sex change operations after thailand

[–]fschmidt 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Traditional mosques. I haven't been to a lot of mosques, so I can't speak for them generally, but my local mosque is traditional. Also note that "muslim" countries are mostly only nominally muslim in the same way that christian countries are only nominally christian. Most people in muslim countries don't attend mosque regularly.

Iran represents all Muslims?

[–]bobbobbybob 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

completely iranian state represents islamic rulings on sex and gays. i reckon.
