This man will probably spend the rest of his life in jail for this; at least in today's world. However, when I was a child, had my friends, and I done anything similar to this, I think my entire family would've been cheering for the adults. It's called respect, and you should always respect your elders as best as you can, I think in this case, I'd have just walked away.
