Read the whole trilogy, it's all excellent. I heard rumors of a movie a while back but not sure if that's still happening?

I remember the bit about the Earth-Trisolaris Organization undermining human governments because they believe humanity deserves to be destroyed—or else that the aliens will bring us to utopia... and after this year I think, wow, this guy really understood human nature when he wrote that.

I think LiuCi Xin understands human nature better than most. The ideas he discusses, feminization of society, authoritarianism, desperation, fear, panic. While couched in eastern culture is very visceral. I must say, I am left terrified of the idea that Technology doesn't have an end point. Technological progression ad infinitum is terrifying... but equally so is the idea that there is a plateau past which no civilization may climb. In either case... It also made me reevaluate the 'dark forest' solution to the fermi paradox. If technology has no limit in terms of development, then dark forest solutions become far more viable.
