This article makes it clear there is a code for life. It's like a computer code. Men are tinkering with it, editing it, and cutting and pasting the code, making chimeras. This code is a chemical language. Think about it. You too have this code, to be a human being. There is an author of this code.... The Creator. But many will think they can change the code and become something better than human. Instead, they will become beasts.

The article talks about growing human organs in a pig's body. Which is better: a pig, or a human?

When Jesus heals a man, he does not have to resort to using beasts to grow tissue. Few have experienced this healing, because they don't ask for it. They don't ask, because they lack the faith.

I have received healing from God after praying to the Lord Jesus Christ. So I know the healing power of God is real, and it was free! He can help you, too!

Interesting. This is eerily similar to the cover story the bio-pharma company in 2005's "The Island" gave to the public for organ production, when the truth was they were creating, raising, and murdering clones of people.

Nice trick, except I caught it before. 2012 was something you bought up and I turned it around. Unfortunately for billions - life is totally hopeless. They could start rioting and marauding now, no reason not to. But they can’t come to the conclusion that the rich are smarter and would escape. They’ll all catch it too late and then go crazy. Hurting their defenseless neighbors, cannibalizing on irrelevant poor people for food. It’s the master plan of the rich - who get away and restart civilization elsewhere. Not much a movie really, the world is carefully falling apart around you for a reason while the selected nobility is ready to escape.

History says they do escape.

Cool magic trick bro- interjecting with the 2012 movie that is highly irrelevant in an attempt to throw off the conversation. Except the rich are smarter than the plebs, they escape and seek to restart their progeny as gods/kings etc. in a new location. They have the means to do it and someone like you/me may not be selected for survival. So there is an escape for some.

Maurauders? Under secret underground tunnels? At private islands with defensive capabilities? Mainland yokels are fucked. The rich have been planning for it since they supplied you with fake orange juice in 2016 while testing validity of democracies and demographics. Refer back to your username, the rich are absolutely safe. They have vertical farms established and better water purification capabilities. White people are absolute scumbags to set this up for themselves and not many others - even though it was always possible.

The rich have tunnels, private islands, private planes, kidnapped children and a wealth of technology/information that they’ll fall back on. What the hell do you think has been going on as of late?

Not to mention gvt contingency plans to restart democracy in the future. It is only the little people that have no hope unfortunately. Thrown to the wolves, left stranded and having to eat bugs - perhaps.

Sure, a lot of that may happen since their self sustaining practices are long forgotten. But pieces of their civilization will revert back over a longer course. White countries aren’t exactly nice, they hate the actually colored folks. They just want their resources so they can boost themselves up to play king/god/moral police. And they do it from the shadows, it barely makes sense for this relationship to work without a level playing field where they see each other or care for each other as humans. It’s a huge disconnect that was never patched up.

It is fair to say that a handful of his books have inspired good, even excellent, movies -- Screamers is not one of them! -- but by all the gods, Dick's writing is awful.

They were immortal and no longer cared about the rest of the universe. They hid behind their impenetrable time shields. Kai and the rebels flew out to fight, but it was pointless because the rest of the Brunnen-G race were decadent, immortal, and uncaring.
Their story was explained in musical - Season 2 Episode 18 - Brigadoon I remember this episode because of the song about none of the Brunnen G knowing who their children, grand children, or great grandchildren were because they were immortal and lost all their memories.
Kai ends up fulfilling the great prophecy and killing the Great Shadow and ending the empire.
On paper the series sounds amazing, but watching it shows that it is completely wacky and strange and amazing.

LOL, I actually remember this. This was the very beginning of the series. These are the peaceful artistic race, the Navaho of the stars, who predictably get crushed. You left out the best part, though, watching the doom spaceship destroy them all without breaking a sweat and go on to wreck their planet. By the time this last-ditch attack comes out, they had lost long ago. Think of them as space Europeans without idiot Americans to care for them and spend on their behalf and send their soldiers to die for their ungrateful asses. By the time the situation is lost, their pathetic militaries fight and are quickly rolled over.

I'm a big fan of Dust Studios, which have grown substantially over the years to become perhaps the best sci-fi short film distributor and producer of independent filmmakers. I see they now note 500 filmmakers in 50 countries that use Dust for production and/or distribution. They started years ago with an occasional 5 or 10-minute film on Youtube, with a few subscribers. I think these are among the most creative stories and productions today. The cost for that production must have been around $50k or 100k, if everyone was paid at least the minimum actor and tech union rates, not to mention the cost of the equipment.

Are Solar Panels the Right Solution for Your Home? by Antonnio491 in ScienceFiction

[–]Gravi 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I believe solar panels should be utilized in areas with most sun, for sure. Place like UK? The place where it's always cloudy, raining and depressive? Not so much, it's negligible, solar panels can pay off for sure even in places like that I believe, but don't trust my verdict on that. I do believe that everyone should utilize them when there's the chance and no better place to put your money into, it would not be about ecology for me, but about effectivity and monetary returns, Biggest problem with my house and most the apartment blocks here - Flat rooves. Although I don't know how specifically it affects solar panels, but I think it still does, has to do with angling I believe.

In areas with lots of sun yes, UK not so much. solar panels do work on cloudy days — but not as effectively as they would on a sunny day. Expect them to produce 10-25% of their normal power output, depending on how thick the cloud cover is.

Just finished watching the whole series, or should that be serial?

The quality is not very consistent. Some of the episodes are great, some are ridiculously bad. It's hard to rate because of the number of both good & bad episodes is about equal (if you skip the first season). So much heart-to-heart episode/season-filler. But American audiences seem to really enjoy heart-to-heart scenes, for some reason.

It's a bit too similar to your average Star Trek spin-off. Military sci-fi seems to be the only type of sci-fi Americans feel comfortable doing, like Stargate.

A lot of the Alien cultures tended to be a mixture between Native American & Japanese, which is also to be expected of an American show.

Garibaldi & Londo were the best characters. Peter Jurasik is the best actor. Totally believable.

Back in the 90s B5 stood out a lot better, being a serial, but nowadays absolutely every modern American show for the passed 20 years has been a serial. Personally, I really dislike serials (I prefer series). Another hang-up of mine is the dreadful picture & sound quality that absolutely every American show suffers from pre-/(& sometimes even)post-HD.

If it comes down to B5 vs. all the Star Treks & Stargates, then B5 might snag first place (or second only to the original Star Trek). Like all sci-fis, it can't compete with space-race era sci-fi shows. The 50s & 60s were the golden age.
