Would that matter when both admins are still in the US?

Also we're working on developing a decentralized solution, so it can be peer-hosted, and thus never ever shut down.

Have you considered ZeroNet? It runs on the BitTorrent network and works with existing torrent trackers to distribute files.

It's relatively easy to set up, and making a proxy to the clearnet is also really quick. When Reddit banned /r/watchpeopledie, my friends and I managed to setup a ZeroNet site and also made it accessible to the outside world through a VPS (Check out here for a demo).

Maybe Saidit could also have a similar system. There's even a Voat clone in ZeroNet that you guys could probably use as a starting point.

The site is up on github. It's just a clone of ZeroTalk with some modifications to support nested comments and downvotes.
