practice doesnt help at all when your starting from square zero. I know literally nothing about talking to women besides maintaining eye contact. On top of that women arent as kind in conversations to me as they are to other men because I am short, and I have a shitty voice. I fail to see how going up to a woman, sounding like an idiot, and walking away will improve my situation in any way.

I think it's mostly a self-esteem issue and fear of rejection that leads to the incel ideology and that makes things worse since it repels women. Self fulfilling prophecy of failure. Although sometimes their standards can be too high too.

Almost my point with a little difference. Life is about hope. You might have no expectations whatsoever but you live with this hope that something with very little possibility will happen. This false hope was destroying me for years - once I lost it my anxiety disappeared. My confidence never got any better, but I don't feel sadness over something that cannot happen.

Yeah I get that. I kind of meant like, if you have no expectations, it can garner a go for broke attitude, like just saying "fuck it". Not necessarily confidence, but yeah I get it.

Hope and faith aren't in my vocabulary. I used to be in ridiculously harmful negative thought patterns about this stuff. I used to see women as a bag of holes, nothing more, and I had good reason, the ones I knew and met were bags of holes, it's that simple. But, there are good women out there, they may be fewer and farther between than they would like to admit, and I believe they are, but they do exist. For me it was changing what I was attracted to. That helped a lot.

I try talking to these guys. They don’t make any effort what so ever. They really put nothing into dating. I think they have no idea what it takes to have a relationship, or to get laid.

And often times, I try to befriend them, and they are nasty to me. Let alone me sleeping with them. I just try to reach out.
