I agree with you. Free speech is a slippery slope. The more free, the more "testing" with offensive or stupid phrases just to get a rise out of people.

I also hate the narcissistic homo tranny worshiping censor brigade on reddit, so it's satisfying to be able to tell them to eat shit here. Btw, not riding Trump's dick, either so don't get that idea.

In the early days of the internet it was the same. If you wanted to post to usenet or the early web forums you'd just have to put up with whatever people would say, or stay offline. Nevertheless that brought a majority of normies who outnumbered those who liked to use racial slurs in every post.

Having that stuff mocked, downvoted and pushed to the bottom wasn't enough though, and thus social media was born.

It wasn't about controlling what ourselves see, it's about controlling what others see and who wrestles that control away for themselves. And that's "social media" in a nutshell.
