Yeah, this is why collectives always fail. They always try to do everything for everyone because the world is their ingroup. Then they can't feed themselves. Plus a lot of the men won't work and you've got a population of 1000 being supported by about 40 working men. Eventually people start getting older and wiser and understand it doesn't work.
