I'm not saying he shouldn't have been arrested. The problem is that there aren't enough police to deal with things like violent schizos on the subway, leading to deaths from civilians having to intervene - yet somehow they have 8 officers available to deal with a guy smoking a cigarette.

yeah i saw everyone making that comments in the dailymiail site there. It's a fallacy I think. The cops should do both, arrest assholes like this guy and also schizos on the subway. It's not an either or. This guy was acting just as schitzo so I'm glad he got arrested just too bad they let him out.

i do think it's importnt to get a lot of cops cuz a schitzo might have a knife on him or something

how did they handle this in the old days ?

werent treated with kid gloves back then and thus many perps were dissuaded

yeah they would have put this guy in jail in old days so he'd be in jail already and not commiting multiple crimes, now no one ever goes to jail, jails are empty.
