I have a really good understanding of conventional computers, coding, and that side of things. But, when it comes to the physics of quantum computing then color me stupid. So, from what I can tell perhaps it's because the machines that IBM is using are only 5 Qbits and one that is 15 Qbits, while there are some being sold by Dwave with a capacity of 2000 or so Qbits so they're not exactly the most powerful. But, as it stands right now it seems that much of what it is good for is to finally once and for all determine if the cat is dead or alive (there's a 63.2% percent chance of it being dead based on what I ran so go figure). Am I seriously missing something here? Because it seems that every tech and news site that I visit is acting like it's the end of all encryption, cure for all diseases, and will usher in a utopian world of rainbows, lollipops, and sunshine. Could it crack DoD encryption, map the human mind, and make for a-freaking-mazing internet connections? I suppose it might someday, but today is not that day. Am I missing something here?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
