This isn't a new thing.

My cousin had a thing for black guys and one day 50 black girls she didn't know turned up at her school to kill her.

This was 20 years ago.

Oh, for sure. If anything it's a little better now. Never had a black dude give me shit for dating a black chick.

What's new is this idea of firing people, etc., for bad jokes. I mean, the Mayor of New Orleans used to call it a "chocolate city" and no one batted an eye.

The black community, like the Muslim community, and the LGBT community, think they gain respect by reducing themselves to mobs of crazed aggressors at the slightest mild offences? It just further distances them from the rest of society and causes bitter resentment. How was this outcome in any way proportionate to that joke?
