Reddit did ban using the term 'faggots' for a while. It was wildly unpopular as redditors have an existential need to point out the sheer number of faggots in any given post, as is traditional internet etiquette.

Real redditors never stopped using it, good riddence to the subreddits who decide their subs thoughts for themselves.
