just had something like that happen to my openbsd install. just stopped booting

bleeeeh. any number of stupid shit could cause it.

at a glance it does look some some sudden hardware issue, any way you can extract the full log?

edit: plenty of seemingly related issue dating as far as a decade back if you search for "linux kernel boot hung at RCU"

If you can, go into the BIOS and take a look at all your hardware, see if it indicates anything broken.

Then try booting off an external drive and perform a file system check. Look up documentation for fsck
