In his recent op-ed, Russel Fox asked “Can Kansas function without moderate Republicans?” The real question is “What is driving Republicans to desperation?”
His sort bemoans the lack of “reasonable compromise.” Many Kansans believe that too much has been compromised away already. They see a nation where big-city Democrat machines, socialist educators, Marxist political activists, and an enabling mass media have pushed the “norm” far to the left.
It is now their core values that are threatened: reverence for God, family, constitutional government, and personal responsibility and achievement. They see a campaign to destroy history and its lessons, a campaign that portrays the USA as the greatest source of evil on the planet. It is a campaign that is destroying our legal system through the election of left-wing activist district attorneys and the elimination of bail.
With so much already gone, there is no room for compromise.
