I'd love a bat! One I could carry around with me like a private with a (n upside down) parrot.

I would love to have a bat as well! Sadly they arent meant to be kept as pet at all but I follow a ton of organisations on instagram who save bats and let me tell you... they are fucking cute

I adore bats (especially flying foxes). I don't understand why so many people think they're dirty and ugly. Their little faces and their wings with their little claws are some of the cutest damn things in existence.

They are most definitely not ugly, but some bat species are so ugly they're cute.

Actually, I'm currently writing a sci-fi story where one of the characters comes from a tribe who basically live in the treetops in this big rainforest, and they ride around on giant mega-bats.

And they will not eat me? Then Jaguar (and will protect from crocodiles too!) or Panther.

I've always loved unicorns and dragons. I know they're the fantasy creatures everyone loves, but...Yeah, I love them anyway. If I had to choose a real animal, I think I'd go with a Cheetah. I have watched videos of people who work at Cheetah rescues and they just seem like awesome giant housecats. And they're so affectionate! They love to sleep with their people. Lifegoal is now to sleep underneath a pile of purring cheetahs.

A cat or two. I just love them.

I think I'd want an animal that I could work with. Horseback riding, falconry, sled dog riding, etc. I don't live the kind of life that allows something like that, though. I train my dogs to do a lot of tricks, but they're still pets rather than working partners.

Otherwise, I think having a ferret would be pretty cool. My wife vetoed that idea because they stink. I don't blame her, but they're just so funny. Little stinky slinky friends.

I love having working partnerships my animals. They are dependable, don’t show up late, don’t complain, and only take food and lovin’ as payment.

Last time I lived with a ferret he stole all my stuff then hid it so well no one could find it and would break out of his cage to attack you in the middle of the night when you had to pee.

I'm pivoting more and more from ferrets to mongooses :)

I think they're neat too. Inspired by the story Rikki Tikki Tavi. Although it depicts a mongoose, in my child's mind they were similar :) Good to know about the smell problem.

Well you aren’t entirely wrong haha 😆. Mongoose and ferrets both belong to the mustelid family, so they are related to each other. (Otters are mustelids too, and in fact, some people have them as pets as well but I definitely don’t recommend haha)!

    [–]Innisfree 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

Why, I didn't know it's the same family. Thanks! With this new info I've quite gone off the idea. And anyway, I think they belong in the wild.

Haha well at least the mongoose and the otters belong in the wild, but don’t feel guilty if you change your mind about ferrets! 😆 and you’re welcome!

I think a sabered tooth tiger is pretty cool. A bonus if it doesn’t attack and eat me. I’d like a dinosaur too; not only are they environmentally friendly (when it comes to traveling), but if you get a big dinosaur you can get to destinations quicker.

Water buffalo. I met one that my friend trained and fell in love.

I would imagine how peaceful it would be to be on a farm with my own herd of deer who are too fond of my company to ever leave...

i'd like to have back all my pets that have died. i really miss them and loved them a lot. i tell myself that when i die, i'll get to see them again and we'll all be healthy and never get sick.

I would make my cat immortal, or atleast live until I die! He's my best friend!

Pterodactyl. As a kid I saw this fantasy series, can't remember what it is. But as a human you could bond with a pterodactyl - form a special connection and it would let you fly on it's back.

    Hmm sounds like Avatar :)
