I was having an argument with someone after I said being bisexual means you only like 2 sexes, male and female. Since bi usually means 2. But for when i got look up claims to back this, i keep seeing articles says more than 1/multiple genders. I always assumed it meant 2 only. Especially since the term pansexual exists which means being attracted to anything. If bisexual means liking more than 2 genders, then why does the term still exist when we could replace it with pansexual?

Yeah, that would be because the definition was changed and the old definition memoryholed.

Definition of bisexual

1a : of, relating to, or characterized by sexual or romantic attraction to people of one's same sex and of the opposite sex

this definition is still there, and still accurate

definition of bi prefix

bi- prefix

Definition of bi- (Entry 2 of 4) 1a : two bilateral b : coming or occurring every two bicentennial c : into two parts bisect 2a : twice : doubly : on both sides biconvex b : coming or occurring two times biannual — compare semi- 3 : between, involving, or affecting two (specified) symmetrical parts

it means two, like a bicycle, and not three like a tricycle. the other definition was shoved in to include trans, and doesn't follow the bi prefix definition, it sounds more like pan

new definition of bisexual: also : of, relating to, or characterized by sexual or romantic attraction to people of one's own gender identity and of other gender identities

one+others???

Ironically the better definitions(Binary ones) are still all on Urban dictionary. Which were defined before this '2 or more genders', 'Multiple Genders' thing took over the official sites, which have mostly gone woke and inaccurate.
