I watched the 2019 Equality Act hearings and I was so angry with Pramila Jayapal that I called her office and said pretty much what I typed here.

I spent a lot of time in South Asia. This is speculation on my part, but I feel as if Jayapal couldn't deal with a gay son, and so had to make him into a hijra, but who knows.

What really pisses me off is that Jayapal brought that backward thinking here and wants to change US law to mirror her own misogyny and homophobia while claiming to be a "Progressive" and she got huge rounds of applause from "Progressives" for it.

I guess her son is no longer "non-binary" because in the video at the OP she calls him "trans." Unless she has another trans kid - what are the odds w a fame whore mom?!?!?

I'm an Indian and i can guarantee you she probably thinks of hijras as 'progressive' (and would probably encourage a gay child to be one) .which is simply not true. Most of them are gay men who have been castrated by force. I've seen them either beg on the streets or be forced into sex work for a living since i was a child. How shameful

Thanks for your input!

I spent a lot of time in India and would see hijras in gangs. I remember one gang in Mumbai that I kind of became friends with because they were always happy to see me and sort of performed for me. They did not seem to lead fulfilling lives - I guess that's a way to put it.

They seemed to be mostly gay men, forced to pretend to be women. Really tragic.

I don't know what's wrong with Pramila Jayapal, but she wrote an extremely long and detailed article on the birth of her now "trans" child (posted on this thread), so I'm guessing narcissist.

Also, perhaps, like a good % of mothers of "transgender" children Jayapal might have Munchausen by proxy and be gaslighting that child, who was extremely premature, into being "special" so that she herself gets attention.

IMO Pramila Jayapal is irritating and dangerous, because her personal narrative of having a "trans" child gives her oppression points that she's currently trying to use to destroy gay and womens' rights via the Equality Act.

Yes I've seen them in gangs too. Actually a lot of them have entire societies with a hierarchy (just a personal experience, someone correct me if I'm wrong)

A lot of them are very nice people, but like you said they do not live fulfilling lives

The hijras are often gay men, but aren't allowed to exist as gay men just living their lives in that society. Tragic.
