Website owners generally don't choose their ad. Would you rather the website sell user data to make money? I'd rather their just be an ad I can block. .co had an ad for sex dolls, they never advocated sex dolls though

Many forums run ad free. Hosting a website that only supports text (you can have imgur images appear on your site without hosting them yourself) are extremely cheap to run. Like 20 dollars a month. You can implement things like reddit gold, or other form of donations with perks. In either case it didn't seem like a third party ad.
