I remember when some of the founding members of reddit said they wanted to protect free speech, EVEN when the topic was illegal or something they disagreed with.

Look at how far they've fallen. That + the forced redesign, the constant advertising and astro turfing. I hope they fail worse than digg

To be fair, the original guy behind reddit was Aaron Swartz. He definitely was pro-free speech and I'm sure some of the others who are still there were too. For (((some))) reason the FBI tried to convict him of obscure felonies because he downloaded some scientific journals. So he killed himself. Then the feds installed their puppets into the reddit administration and the rest is history.

When your choices are constrict free speech and don't get killed/arrested or save free speech and make tons of money, I can't really blame the other founding members of reddit for cucking to the feds.
