Most old games you can definitely play in 4K (often even better than modern games since they're not as graphically intensive; for example I play Thief 2 at 4k but have to turn the settings down to like 2k, sometimes even 1080p, for for example Black Mesa). Problem is the models and textures, if that bothers you.
