Makes sense in a lot of ways. Where I live, big companies are buying up single-family homes and renting them out bedroom by bedroom. You can tell because they have to paint a parking area with stripes, even making a handicapped spot.
That's ugly and unwelcome in a residential subdivision, of course, but the larger issue is the sort of person who'd resort to such a living situation: poor, and not invested in the neighborhood in any real way.
