I would be offended by dry, untoasted bread too, I don't understand that.

It’s a traditional side. We haven’t always been fat. Calories were a treat.

It's for making a sandwich or sopping up sauce, but we didn't bother with it. Filling up on bread would have been a waste. We couldn't even finish all the meat and had no place to keep the leftovers. Might have been able to leave them in the car since it was so cold, but we didn't try.

The wife and I shared the meat platter shown and a couple of ridiculously priced drinks. I'd liked to have taught the bartender how to make a proper margarita.
