You know, I visited there once years ago, and I was really disappointed. The pics always make it look really in-your-face (no pun intended), but in reality the look-feel of it was small from the Visitor Center. It wasn't "bad" - just not the powerful experience I expected.

I get what you're saying. Coincidentally, I watched the film Nebraska recently, in which Mt. Rushmore appears, and it looked underwhelming there.
