Despite the age of smart phones, I still recommend reading the books.

I don't know about both of them.
The book is epic. The movie is too. As is the TV series. I suspect the first of the 2 part movies of the first book in the series will be exceptional.
Few sci-fi on video bother to address politics of the future (essentially the same kind of manipulative bullshit).
