This is because the end consumer cost of health insurance doubled or tripped after Obama Care's Affordable Care Act...
What Obama Care did, was require every insurance plan cover a bunch of stuff, mostly stuff people would choose to avoid paying for coverage of, or trade for a smaller insurance premium, so they are now much more expensive.
Now we are all forced to buy high priced premium coverage and the generic coverage is banned. There is no budget tier anymore. If you are not a woman with children, the government safety nets are extremely callous and will let you die.
This is compounded by how many Americans became disabled since Covid and the Covid Vaccines hit.
