I know you don't like them,

Aluminium is just scary because of its potential link to alzheimer's. They're nice in how quick they heat up, mostly.

You could try lubricating the rivets with a non-corrosive food-safe oil after cleaning

That's a good idea but I'd rather just replace it at this point. Also, I suspect the corrosion is being caused by two dissimilar metals together. It's a thing, but I don't understand it too much besides knowing it happens.
