So sick of hearing "My furbabies" from childfree groups, because it just invalidates their own reasons for being childfree in the first place.

Like I'm so totally fine with the ranting against kids...but when you start to act like a pet is no different, that's when I just stop listening to all the bullshit a childfree person has to say from that point on. If you like pets more than kids, fine! But don't pretend they're not the same responsibilities with different outcomes. Yes, pets are easier and don't have opinions like children can do once they get old enough, but the sad reality is pets have become a emotional dependency for people with voids of having children.

It's pretty sad actually on how pets are being used as substitutes for human children. To me it just shows that the person who claims to be childfree isn't really childfree.

The hypocrisy is real with these people, and yet they're blind to their own bs! Dependency is dependency! It doesn't matter if it's a family member, child, and/or pet because these are all things that need to be cared for from you.

And I'm happy to not have to have any dependents whatsoever, and I can say that with %100 happiness.

I'd say a demanding dog is even more hard work and committed than a child because at least a child eventually learns to communicate and survive on its own. With a dog they act like an eternal toddler for 10-20 years.

True and exactly! Both have differences certain elements that need more attention than others. With a child you not only have to be there for them financially, emotional and mentally as well. Pets don't need so much mental and emotional exhaustion...but physical they do. I think a lot of childfree want is a child that doesn't have opinions, needs education, etc. Pets obey at anything you tell them to do.
