Antarctica and other parts of the world makes it very clear that scientists did not exaggerate. Indeed, they very probably underrated by a considerable degree the threat that now faces humanity.

I remember being in grade school in the early 90s and we watched a video about global warming. The spokes person was adiment that if we did nothing New York city would be under water in 10-20 years.
