dont forget Han Fei's Legalism, which in many ways is the hard outer shell of our civilization.

Han Fei's legalism actually bears a lot of similarity to sharia. His idea was basically that if you make the punishments so severe, people would not dare to trangress against the law. In sharia, you get your hand chopped off for stealing...just saying lol
