It's better to explicitly clear cookies for reddit.com via browser settings, theoretically they can store some user ID there even if you are not in logged-in state.

But if you change device and browser, it can't be cookies that they use to track you. I've created 20 accounts clearing cookies and they always end up banned within 2 weeks

That's why I asked about syncing and Chrome - if you log in to google/gmail you are automatically logged in Chrome itself (if you won't switch this shit off in settings), which synchronizes bookmarks/history/cookies between devices.

I used a different device entirely for Gmail etc
