Have you mailed your ex-boss a box of turds?

I wish. But I'll be filing a complaint to our equivalent of OSHA. It's the kind of place they make you saw steel without any training.

How was the work?

[–]Megatron95[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Grueling. It involved drilling holes in sheet metal, sawing metal pieces, tightening bolts as well as holding 4' * 10' heavy gauge galvanized steel sheets in place to mold edges in a hydraulic folding machine. As an added bonus you get plenty of scratches from the corners of the metal sheets.

Drilling holes in steel shouldn't be done anymore. Lasers should do that. In fact, your whole job should be done by a robot, because it's dangerous and dull.

If you actually got fired, try to get a tour of the company first before you even do the real interview next time.

I was misled on the tasks I'd be doing and paid a dollar less an hour than what was advertised in the job offer. Some employers are deceitful when hiring new candidates.

That is wild.

What happened?

They got fired. It's right there in the title.

I got fired for refusing to be treated like shit. The job was in a steel shop that makes ventilation conduits for AC systems in buildings and such. Just a month in and my joints were aching and my carpal tunnel issue got worse. Not a big loss really.

So you were feeling like shit and took it out on everyone else.

Not quite what happened. I would put things in context for your benefit but you're not really that nice of a person so I won't bother. Suffice to say you wouldn't have lasted more than an hour in that environment.

This works well on carpal tunnel injuries.

It seems too good to be true, but it works like magic.

Thanks but it's a bit expensive.

[–]Tom_Bombadil 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah. It's not cheap. But it does the job.

Given your joints and carpal tunnel issue are you considering a new line of work?

What is your current financial situation? You don't have to be super specific but I'm just wondering if you had some money stashed away to get your though a month or two.

[–]Megatron95[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I have enough money left for a month or so. I could do a call center job but I'd rather work physically to be honest. Just not as intense as the last job.
