Aaaaaand, unsurprisingly, there are now riots for Walter Wallace Jr, who was shot for charging cops with a knife. This is exactly what BLM is rioting over.

Law enforcement in the states wouldn't go that route. Basically, in a valid self defense situation, you shoot until there is no chance of the bad guy posing any further threat. You are fully within your rights to keep shooting until they're done moving, because if they are not completely incapacitated they can still kill you/others. The only rub here would be that, depending on the state, they may try and argue the bystander had a duty to flee rather than using force. That said, he could fairly easily argue that he had no safe means to flee, so he'd be fine as long as he took the appropriate actions after this incident.

Yeah, any church in any shall-issue state, let alone Texas, has at least a handful of concealed carry licensees.

I wish I could say it's better on salary. I do maybe 10 hours of actual work in a very busy week, and spend the other 30 not letting my bosses catch on to the fact that I have nothing to do. I am constantly, actively trying to get more engaging and challenging work (or at least more than 15 minutes' worth at a time), but my "software engineering" job has boiled down to filling spreadsheets and occasionally changing 2 lines of a test script.
