Romeo vs Juliet slander(9gag.com)
Is this meant to be a retelling of Romeo and Juliet that takes place in the 20's or something? The idea being that a black woman and a white man would be from "Two warring families" in that period?
Seems really on the nose to insert that. It's a classic and it's generally frowned upon to modify Shakespeare in any way. It's also pretty banal... Yeah, I get it, you're obsessed with black people. At least if it had been a Feudal Japanese Samurai and a Christian, or a Hundred Years War French and English person it would have been an original(ish, for the modern era) take on the idea of people in a feud who fall in love.
