Best whiskeys for the dollar

What about Glenfiddich and Chivas Regal?

Honorable mentions? Neither are bad, but I've never thought they were underpriced either. Same with Japanese whiskey. Haven't had a bad one yet, but they know what they got and aren't looking to cut you a deal either.

Yeah they are not cheap but I think they are still in the $40 - $50 price range. One of my favorites until recently is not actually a true whisky, it is a bourbon and honey liqueur blend made with Evan Williams bourbon. For some reason I can't find it anymore.
