How large a gap in time do you consider necessary to invalidate an attempt to connect the two articles?

I think a better argument would point out that this kind of leftist politics mostly comes from Reform rabbis who are sort of "playing Judaism by ear" anyway. That might resonate with the political right.

I find a general disinclination on the part of jewposters to have logic resonate with them. By the time sperg-outs begin in online comments, they've already been demoralized to the idea that jews could be anything good.
