The people out in the streets committing violence, etc are what the elite call useful idiots. The elite use these useful idiots to start the revolution and fight the 'war' for them so they can take power. Once the elite have power they take the useful idiots (who think they are going to rule alongside the elite in equality), line them up against a wall and blow their brains out.

That's why they are called useful idiots.

This goes back to picking more extreme over another. I understand that we did horrible things to some of the natives, but it’s always written off like it was a massive genocide. We came in we open fire and that was it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "communists" here. USA government has been publishing for many years an annual report about conceived "oppression" and "minorities" in other parts of the world. This has been going on for decades and was often used as a tool for political pressure. Wasn't that "communist"? Shouldn't the oppressed Native Americans be included in that report as well?
